Mini sausage rolls

I always have a roll of puff pastry in my fridge just to be prepared for unexpected guests or to make some little snacks for while watching a great movie. This pastry and a little bit of creativity can give you so many options. Adding some pork sausages, like I did yesterday, can create some great little appetizers. Everyone seems to enjoy this finger food specially when it is served hot.
In less than 10 minutes of prep time, you can be sitting again with your guests while sipping on some wine while the little bites are baking in the oven!!

Mini sausage rolls
Serves: 8

Ingredients:
1 roll puff pastry, ready-made

10 pork sausages (or 40 small hot dogs)
1 egg yolk
sesame seeds, to decorate

1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees
2. Cut the sausages in 4 equal parts
3. Roll out the pastry and cut thin strips to cover each sausage part but leaving the ends of the sausage still visible
4. Brush egg yolk to cover the pastry
5. Sprinkle some sesame seeds on top of the rolls to give them some extra flavour
6. Place the sausage rolls on a tray with baking paper and slide them in the oven for 20 min, or until golden brown
This recipes offers 40 mini sausage rolls.
Serve them hot with a dip sauce made of a mixture between mayonnaise and ketchup. Enjoy!
