Japanese style chicken wings

I recently went back to Japan but when I returned this time I decided to make some of their delicious recipes. These Japanese style chicken wings is definitely something that will please many of you. Very easy to make, with or without the sauce. But the sauce can determine if you'll make the wings spicy or not.

Japanese style chicken wings
4 Servings

Ingredients:
12 chicken wings

flour (enough to coat the chicken wings)
salt and pepper
oil for frying

Dressing:
6 tbsp soya sauce
2 tbsp sake
2 tbsp mirin
1 tbsp white sugar
1 grated garlic clove
1 tsp grated ginger

1. Wash, half the chicken wings and sprinkle them with salt and pepper
2. In a separate bowl, cover them with flower
3. While waiting for the oil to heat in a frying pan, prepare the dressing in an small pan on the stove. Add all the ingredients for the dressing at the same time and let it simmer on medium heat, for a bit until the dressing starts cristalizing.
4. Fry the chicken parts during 3 to 5 min each, depending on the size.
5. After frying, let them drip on a paper towel before sprinkling them with the dressing.
This dish can be used as appetizer or can be part of a main meal with other small dishes. Delicious with a nice, cold beer. Enjoy!
