I love the taste of green tea powder that is why I decided to turn the existing recipe of 'Marble chocolate cake' into this 'Marble macha cake' (macha means green tea in Japanese). As green tea powder is not sweet but rather bitter on it is own but it creates an interesting balance between the sweet vanilla taste and the green tea flavor. Not only a great taste but also an interesting colour on your plate!

2. beat the butter and sugar together, then add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition
3. fold through the flour and milk until the mixture is smooth
4. divide the mixture between 2 bowls. Stir the green tea powder into the mixture in one of the bowls
4. divide the mixture between 2 bowls. Stir the green tea powder into the mixture in one of the bowls
5. take 2 spoons and use them to dollop the green tea and vanilla cake mixes into the tin alternately
6. when all the mixture has been used up tap the bottom on your work surface to ensure that there aren't any air bubbles
7. take a skewer and swirl it around the mixture in the tin a few times to create a marbled effect
8. bake the cake for 45-55 mins until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Turn out onto a cooling rack and leave to cool.
Lovely with a cup of green tea. Enjoy!
